Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Social media accounts hacked. Mark’s accounts on Twitter and Pinterest were compromised by the hackers although these accounts have been now secured, his Facebook account wasn’t among the hacked profiles. On Mark’s Pintereset page a post credited the hack to a group that is called OurMine Team. The responsible group OurMine Team also claimed to have gained access to Mark’s Instagram account, according to the report the team gained access to the accounts via LinkedIn Password Dump. Last month millions of accounts were comprised after the LinkedIn security credentials were leaked online. As a security assess or measure, LinkedIn had to reset all the affected user’s passwords.
Mark Zuckergerg like all of us has also multiple social accounts, but the current situation of hacking the account shows that he doesn’t follow the standard security process on other platforms. Most of the users tend to have similar passwords for their multiple accounts, same as Mark Zuckerberg does, using Mark’s password from the LinkedIn password dump, hacking team was able to hack Mark’s Twitter and Pinterest accounts. Twitter was quick to react and it had already brought it back with the offending tweet deleted. Pinterest didn’t react quickly and it took time to recover the account. Although, Mark Zuckerberg hasn’t tweeted anything since January 2012.
This is the good reminder yet that if anyone has a LinkedIn account than he/she should ahead and change the password from there and also from everywhere else, it is best for your accounts security. In fact, everyone should make it a habit to change the passwords regularly on all the online accounts for the security purpose. May be this would be too much difficult for a users than at least users make a habit of using the different passwords for their online accounts. There is a lot of hacking cases you have observed so care for your account by secure it and using the strong password to secure your social media accounts.
